Personally, I would have done the stupid watch that shows up while an image is loading, but that's pretty funny :)
Right now, my iPhone's background is a Windows 7 BSOD (a joke, to be sure, as I'm more of a MS guy than an Apple guy, but I get a chuckle out of people when they see it). I think I was inspired by some E3 event in which the computer running one of the demos during a live showing crashed, so they ended up with a 70 foot tall BSOD in front of hundreds of thousands of people, which was pretty funny.
